The Khasi Students’ Union – Employment Monitoring Cell has sought an explanation from the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) for not conducting the personal interview for the post of Assistant Engineer (Electrical/ Mechanical) even after four years after the result of successful candidates were declared.
The MeECL had on August 19, 2019 declared 24 candidates eligible for the personal interview scheduled on August 26. However, the interview was then postponed through a notification on August 22.
The KSU in a letter to the e Director (Corporate Affairs) said it is livid with the fact that even after more than four years the MeECL could not conduct the personal interview. “This irregularity in the recruitment process has raised concerns over the transparency of the recruitment process in MeECL which in this case seems to be tainted beyond any reason or rhyme,” chairman of the cell, Reuben Najiar said.
The union said the MeECL has to explain the public over its prolonged delay in the recruitment process and to immediately conduct the personal interview and recruit eligible candidates in a fair and transparent manner.
