Another low in the number of new daily Covid-19 cases in Meghalaya was set today, with only 55 recorded statewide.
There was one new Covid-related fatality in the state today, as well as 86 recoveries.
The lone death was in East Garo Hills, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 46 new cases today and there were nine between the other 10 districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 46 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 32 and eight between the other nine districts.
There are now 845 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 507 active cases, West Khasi Hills 202, West Jaintia Hills 54, Ri-Bhoi 38, West Garo Hills 21, East Jaintia Hills nine, South West Khasi Hills six, East Garo Hills three, South West Garo Hills two, North Garo Hills two and South Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 82,953 Covid-19 cases, of which 845 are active, 80,673 have recovered and 1,435 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.25 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 75.71 and for new deaths is 2.00.
