In a combined effort to curb illegal activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border, personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) and local police successfully seized 19 tonnes of sugar from the Rongra area of South Garo Hills yesterday.
Based on specific information, BSF troops from the 200th Battalion, in collaboration with the Meghalaya police, conducted a joint operation near the Indo-Bangladesh border.
During the operation, more than 19 tonnes of sugar was recovered from an abandoned house located in close proximity to the international border. The seized sugar was handed over to the Rongra police station for further action.
