The Confederation of Ri-Bhoi People (CoRP) has demanded the state government speed up the opening of the Nongrim Jirang Lower Primary School.
Informing that the school construction was completed last year, CoRP expressed surprise that the school has not been made functional and students and teachers continue to use an old building that is in deplorable condition.
CoRP demanded that the new school building be made immediately functional for the benefit of the students before it turns into an abandoned place.
The Rangbah Shnong of Nongrim Jirang, K Rani, informed that the committee members of the village and the school managing committee had fixed a day for the school to be inaugurated by local MLA Sostenes Sohtun but this failed to materialise after the legislator did not come despite all preparations made by the school.
