The Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) has received Rs 6, 82, 50,000 as an untied grant from the 15th Finance Commission since April 1, 2020 till October 31, 2021.
This was informed by JHADC Executive Member (Finance), Phasmon Dkhar today while replying to queries put by opposition Congress MDC Awhai Andrew Shullai during question hour of the winter session of the council.
On the details sought by Shullai regarding the number of trade licences issued by JHADC, Dkhar said that 173 trade licences have been issued from September 1, 2020 till October 30, 2021.
He also informed that five no-objection certificates have been issued to coke factories in West and East Jaiñtia Hills districts from April to October 2021.
Meanwhile, JHADC Chief Executive Member Thombor Shiwat informed the House that eight no-objection certificates have been issued by the council for limestone and boulder mining since April 1 to October 30 this year.
During the session, obituary references were made for the two members of JHADC who passed away recently – Erudith Sutnga and Mihsalan Suchiang.
Moreover, the House agreed to appoint Shullai as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee with Arbor Hima Darnei, Robinus Syngkon and Aiborlang Shadap as members. The secretary of JHADC will be the member secretary of the committee.
