The Jaiaw Langsning locality has installed 19 CCTV cameras to curb the rising number of theft in the locality.
The CCTV cameras were inaugurated by West Shillong MLA, Mohendro Rapsang on December 18.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Rapsang said that it was the joint effort of the residents of the locality to ensure safety and security of the area.
He also said that if there are ways and means to provide such facilities for the benefit of the residents he is always ready to help the citizens.
“The government gives us opportunities to let us help the localities. I am ready to do so,” the West Shillong MLA said.
He, however, said that it is not only he alone who can make things possible but all the citizens’ efforts and the Dorbar Shnong which has enabled him to bring development in the constituency.
