The Interfaith Forum for Peace and Harmony (IFPH) in Manipur was launched today in Imphal.
The forum was launched with an objective of giving relief, healing and restoration of humanity to all people affected by the violent conflict in Manipur. Altogether, 34 persons, including religious leaders representing diverse faiths in Manipur – Christian, Sanamahi, Manipuri Gauriya Vaisnav, Islam, Tingkao Ragwang, and various spiritual communities such as Divine Life Society, Art of Living, Brahmakumari, Bhakti Seva Lup and Gandhian movement Ekta Parishad attended the meeting.
The meeting resolved to organise all-faith prayers together to end the violence and heal the suffering through humanitarian support services throughout the state.
A working committee of the forum was constituted comprising two representatives from each faith and Deben Bachaspatimayum was appointed as convener of the forum.
