Lt Gen PC Nair, Director General , Recruiting , Indian Army today called on Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and discussed about the recruitment activities of the army.
During the course of the meeting the Chief Minister was apprised of the effect of the Covid- 19 pandemic on the recruitment activities. The DG informed that recruitment has commenced all across country and also about the forthcoming recruitment drive in Shillong, in the month of April.
Plans to conduct the rallies in other parts of the State like Jowai in West Jaintia Hills, allowing youth from wider cross sections of the State to avail the opportunity of joining the prestigious Indian Army was also discussed.
The DG further expressed the gratitude towards State government towards the support of previous recruitment rallies in the State.
The Chief Minister has assured support to the Indian Army to conduct the recruitment rally.
The meeting was also attended by Brig NS Jadhav, DDG Recruiting (North East States) and Col Saket Suman, SM, Dir Recruiting (North East States).
