IIM Shillong’s postgraduate programme (PGP) 2021-23 batch recorded an increase of 16.70 per cent in its average cost to company (CTC) of Rs 26.96 lakh per annum, with a high of Rs 71.30 lakh.
The institute held its convocation on April 2.
The 238-student PGP class received employment offers from 63 recruiters in a variety of fields. The gender makeup of the class was roughly equally split, with 45 per cent females and 55 per cent males. The placement statistics showed an incremental change, with improvement observed across all categories.
The top 20 percent of students secured an average CTC of Rs 35.35 lakh and the top 50 per cent Rs 30.82 lakh. Prominent recruiters included AB InBev, Aditya Birla Capital, Axis Bank, Deloitte Goldman Sachs, HSBC Bank, IBM, Infosys Consulting, ITC, Jio Platforms, Microsoft, Tata AIG, TATA Steel and Titan.
The batch also welcomed first-time recruiters, including Adani Group, Berger Paints, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Larsen & Toubro, McKinsey & Company and Uber.
Consulting and strategy emerged as the most sought-after domain, accounting for 35 per cent of the total offers received. Twenty percent of the participants received offers in the finance domain and 17 percent in sales and marketing.
The highest CTC, of Rs 71.30 lakh was in consulting and strategy, with a Rs 41 lakh CTC in finance.
