Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today said that the police are on the lookout for those involved in the killing of two persons in Ichamati earlier this week.
“They have identified a few people and they are searching for them,” Sangma told reporters.
He said that the government will move as per law and whoever is responsible will be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, the state BJP while condemning the Ichamati killings said that it submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister so that he will direct the state police to ensure those responsible are arrested at the earliest and chargesheet submitted as per the mandatory period and speedy trial is taken up so that justice can be given to the family members of the victims.
“We will continue to condemn any form of killing of any community,” party spokesperson Mariahom Kharkrang said.
