The Agribusiness Incubation Centre situated at ICAR, Umiam conducted a ten-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on “Transforming Agriculture to Agribusiness from September 3 to 12.
The programme was organised through EDPs among the Tribal Communities of North East Region” under the North East AgriUdaan 2.0 which is a collaboration by ABI Centre and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) of ICAR, Umiam.
The objective of the programme was to promote potential entrepreneurs and educated youth among the tribal communities of North East states towards agripreneurship.
A total of 15 participants from across the North East states were trained on various sectors of agribusiness such as mushroom and spawn production, honey production, piggery, poultry, dairy enterprise, meat and milk processing, fishery and horticulture.
The 10-day programme covered both theoretical as well as hands on demonstration including management as well as information on mandatory regulatory bodies to initiate agribusiness ventures.
