The War Jaintia unit of the Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) has alleged that the trucks carrying coal for so-called high level individuals (politicians, their relatives and friends) on the Amlarem-Dawki stretch of the national highway are plying without any hindrances for the past few weeks.
The HYC said that this has disrupted the movement of the public, especially students and office goers.
The pressure group has urged the authorities to immediately take action on the matter and also to intervene on matters related to overloaded trucks that are damaging roads.
