Hill Crest Higher Secondary School, Rynjah, celebrated its silver jubilee today, beginning year-long celebrations of its journey to educate the youth of the state.
The anniversary was marked today at the school campus in an outdoor setting in keeping with Covid-19 precautions. The day saw special dances performed by students and songs performed by students as well as alumni. Short speeches were also given by Principal, Adrian Lamonte Pariat and founder EC Pariat, and a prayer by Rev E Kharmawphlang.
The school’s founder, EC Pariat, recounted how her intention when she set up the school in 1996 was to limit it to a nursery-kindergarten but, with the encouragement of parents, expanded it and it now goes all the way to Class 12.
Over the course of the year various activities will be organised, the scope of which will depend on the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
