The North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR), Cotton University, and St. Anthony’s College Shillong collaborated to conduct a workshop on “Mobile Campus-Based Geospatial Training Programme on GIS and Remote Sensing” for final-year BSc major students of the Department of Geology, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong.
The inaugural session was held today and was attended by the Director General, NECTAR, Dr. Arun Kumar Sarma, and officials from the organisation.
In his keynote address, Dr. Sarma highlighted how these programs can offer a platform not only to enhance critical thinking and practical skills but also to foster collaboration among participants, ultimately preparing them for real-world challenges through case studies that can subsequently be published.
Earlier in an introductory speech, Rajendra Jena highlighted the objective and significance of the hands-on skills of geospatial technologies through the mobile campus-based geospatial training program offered by NECTAR.
