Nongpoh, Nov 8: Chairman of the State Health and Advisory Board and Nongpoh MLA Mayral Born Syiem inaugurated the Pahambir Health and Wellness Centre to provide essential healthcare services, especially to mothers and expectant women.
The health centre will cater to eight villages under Pahambir area in Raid Nonglyngdoh.
Syiem in his address said the health centre is a blessing that will benefit the community. He stated that Ri-Bhoi District has been identified as an Aspirational District, and the Central Government has given special attention to accelerating developmental initiatives, particularly in the healthcare sector. These efforts aim to enhance service delivery and uplift health infrastructure.
The MLA also noted that the government’s health budget allocation has steadily increased each year, ensuring that healthcare facilities reach every village and locality so that the people do not face hardships in accessing medical care. Although certain shortcomings remain, he assured that, as an MLA and with the support of the Health Department, necessary steps will be taken to further develop and equip the centre.
