Health and Family Welfare Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh was served with a list of healthcare needs in Ri-Bhoi.
Lyngdoh conducted a meeting yesterday with the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong Ri-Bhoi District, a forum of headmen, to address health-related concerns.
Also present were local MLA Mayralborn Syiem, who is also the chairman of the State Health Advisory Board, Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Arpit Upadhyaya, District Medical and Health Officer Dr TS Momin, as well as representatives from the headmen body led by its chairman and secretary, BB Makdoh and PB Sylliang.
During the meeting, the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong Ri-Bhoi District presented a memorandum to the Health Minister, urging proactive measures to address issues in the district.
The memorandum highlighted several critical matters, including the enhancement of healthcare services in Ri-Bhoi.
Specific demands encompassed the establishment of a government rehabilitation centre in the district, the upgrading of Primary Health Centres (PHC) and Health Sub-Centres, the operationalisation of a minor operating theatre at Bhoirymbong and the establishment of a trauma centre at Nongpoh Civil Hospital and the MCH Hospital at Umran Parila.
