The CM Care+ initiative addresses the gaps in the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) for critical care treatments and services not covered by MHIS, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said today.
The Meghalaya government has launched CM Care+, which offers increased coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh and enhanced access to healthcare support, in addition to the existing MHIS.
This new scheme is designed to benefit individuals who have exhausted their MHIS-PMJAY coverage or who require financial assistance for treatments not included under MHIS.
The approval process for CM Care+ cases operates at two levels: district level for amounts up to Rs 2 lakh and state level for amounts between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.
Lyngdoh, however, said that government employees (both state and central) and their dependents are not eligible to apply for this new scheme.
The scheme was officially notified on March 11 by the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
