The Health Department today slashed the cost to the public of Covid-19 tests in half.
In a notification from Commissioner and Secretary Sampath Kumar, the government has cut the cost of the Rapid Antigen Test to Rs 250 and RT-PCR to Rs 500 from Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 respectively.
All those who require to be tested at the state’s entry points will be charged as per approved rates.
Below Poverty Line (BPL) households, on medical advice, can still get free tests at government facilities.
All those who have been identified as high-risk contacts in containment zones and those so advised by Health Department officials will be tested free of cost.
