So far 10 community corona care centres for mild or asymptomatic patients have been or are in the process of being set up to deal with the second wave of the virus in Shillong, namely in Don Bosco Hall (Laitumkhrah), Kur War Multi-Purpose Hall (Jaiaw), Balka Vidyalaya (Keating Road), Shillong Gurdwara, Laban Sports Club Indoor Stadium, St George School (Nongmynsong), Seng Khasi Secondary School (Jaiaw), Indoor Stadium (Mawlai Mawroh), St Joseph School (Pynthorbah) and the Cantonment Board School.
The Synjuk thanked the respective owners and management bodies of these facilities for allowing the creation of corona centres on their properties.
The Synjuk also urged other non-government actors to explore ways in facilitating similar responses to provide support to the existing systems at work to fight the Covid battle.
