Teachers in West Khasi Hills’ government and private schools must take the Covid-19 vaccine or subject themselves to regular RT-PCR tests every 10 days.
In a notice issued today by R Kongwang, the District School Education Officer, all teachers were instructed to get the jab as they are vulnerable to catching and spreading the disease among students and other educationalists.
Those who choose or cannot get vaccinated must take the RT-PCR test every 10 days to be able to show that they are free of Covid-19.
“… if they (the teachers) are found to be the carriers of Covid-19 they will be booked under the law,” Kongwang said, without specifying which law would be used.
