A felicitation for toppers and meritorious students of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) was held yesterday at the Raj Bhavan here.
Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar congratulated the toppers and meritorious students for their exceptional performance and encouraged them to continue their pursuit of excellence. “Many of you will go on to become doctors, engineers, scholars, and professionals who will make Meghalaya and the nation proud,” he said.
He made special mention of students from tribal and remote areas who overcame several challenges to emerge victorious, describing their success as truly inspirational.
The Governor also appreciated the sustained efforts of MBOSE in maintaining integrity and quality in the conduct of examinations. He encouraged the board and academic institutions to align more closely with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasising holistic learning, skill development, and local context in curriculum delivery, ensuring that no child is left behind.
MBOSE Chairman C.P. Marak, Commissioner & Secretary Education Ryntihlang Rapthap, MBOSE Director M. Marbaniang, senior officials, members of the academic community, school principals and teachers, parents and guardians of the awardees attended the function.
The event also marked the celebration of the foundation day of Sikkim.
