The Non Gazetted Employees Association (NGEA) of the Garo Autonomous District Council (GHADC) held a rally today through Tura seeking the clearance of their pending salaries of close to three years as well as the release of the Rs 55 crore in royalties they say is due from the state to the GHADC.
The protestors, who belonged to a variety of departments of the GHADC, have threatened to boycott the upcoming elections to be held on April 9 if the government does not acquiesce to their demands.
