Several pressure groups operating in the Chokpot area have come together to support a call for the state government to revoke the transfer of two officials who have reportedly been serving the people with distinction.
The regional unit of the Garo Students Union (GSU) had already made this demand on Friday and they were joined the following day by the local units of the FKJGP, AYWO, AHAM, CAVC and GHSMC following a meeting.
The order transferring the two officials was made on June 18. Pittingson R Sangma was serving as Sub-Divisional Officer and Jericko N Sangma as the Block Development Officer in Chokpot.
