With no action taken on the misappropriation of MGNREGA fund by Samanda block officials, the A.chik Organization for Social Welfare (AOSW) today said they will seek justice from the court.
The AOSW last month said that a Right to Information (RTI) request shows that a 400 metre motorable road from Dengagre to Matchakolgre was in the project list for Samanda block in 2020-21 but only half of the road was completed, while a drain which should have been constructed with the road but this “is missing too”.
“We will wait for no longer that our warning to the misappropriated block officers is oblivious. We shall step up towards the legal action against the deceptive officers,” vice president of the organisation Tambu Sangma said in a statement here.
He said though officials from the Samanda block office visited Dawa Matchakolgre in August and promised that the pending work would be completed at the earliest, nothing has been done till September end.
