The National Health Mission Meghalaya and Directorate of Health Services has announced that the gap between the second Covid-19 vaccine and booster dose has been reduced in India in view of “evolving scientific evidence and global practices”.
Previously, the gap was nine months (or 39 weeks) but this has now been brought down to six months (or 26 weeks).
Therefore all beneficiaries from 18 to 59 years can avail the booster (known in India as the precaution dose) at private Covid vaccination centres (Woodland Hospital). Government centres will cater to healthcare workers, front line workers and 60-plus beneficiaries free of charge.
