The family members of the late Mawphlang MLA, SK Sunn, has asked its supporters for more time to decide on whether a relative of the deceased will seek to replace him in the Assembly.
Sunn died on September 10 from Covid-19.
Today, a large number of the late MLA’s supporters visited the family home and proposed the name of Sunn’s son, ex-India international footballer, Eugeneson Lyngdoh.
Thanking the supporters who had come from all over to show their support for his late father and proposing his name as a candidate for the by-poll Lyngdoh said, “It is something which is difficult to decide. Therefore, as a family, we have to come together and decide on it so that with one voice we can unite.”
In words of encouragement to the Sunn’s supporters, Lyngdoh urged them not to be discouraged even though he is no more.
“There are many projects that are pending which Sunn had prepared and we desire that his son (Eugeneson) contest the by-poll”, Rangshap Kurbah told reporters.
Kurbah said that Lyngdoh has completed his engineering and is also a knowledgeable person.
