The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) extended help to a government lower primary school in Pahamsyiem, Ri Bhoi district by donating desks and benches.
North Khasi Hills District unit president, Lui Star Lyngdoh along with members of the organisation met with the school management to hand over 15 sets of desks and benches.
This, the FKJGP said, will ensure that young learners at the school have adequate facilities to support their educational pursuits.
Lyngdoh has urged the government to provide further infrastructural support to the school since such amenities are essential for students to pursue higher education. He stressed on the importance of ensuring that every child has access to quality educational facilities.
Head teacher, Abraham Khongjir, teachers and students were present on the occasion.
