Public have been advised not to park their vehicles around Polo area on April 18 and 19 and to avoid plying towards the area from 5 pm onwards on voting day.
East Khasi Hills police said an enormous flow of vehicles is expected from April 17 for election duty towards the SRGT Parking Lot and JN Stadium, Polo and for submitting the EVMs after the close of poll.
Heavy vehicles are also advised not to ply around the Polo agglomeration with effect from April 17.
Various no entry points and diversion routes have been laid around the area from 5:30 pm onwards of April 19.
Police said emergency service vehicles will be facilitated.
In Jowai, no entry points will be laid at DC junction, Jrisalein ground, and HK Singh junction and one-way route to be imposed along the entire stretch from Jrisalein towards DC junction on April 17 and 18 from 8 am onwards.
On April 19 no entry points will be laid at Thomas Jones junction towards DC’s office, Tpep-Pale towards Iawmusiang, Mission Compound Road towards lawmusiang/ DC office, H.K. Singh tri-junction towards DC office and Dawki stand from 3 pm onwards.
All vehicles coming from Riatsiatsim will be diverted towards Mynthong while those coming from Khimmusniang/Jrisalein will be diverted to Chutwakhu road and vehicles coming from New Hill side/Shillong Road will be diverted to Kynruh Saphlang and Thomas Jones.
Four parking lots at lawmusiang will be evacuated from 2 pm onwards on voting day.
