One day after he left the BJP, former Mawsynram MLA Himalaya M. Shangpliang said that he was fed up with State BJP president Ernest Mawrie for not keeping a few of the promises he made on ways and means to strengthen the party in Meghalaya.
“I met with the State party president quite a number of times and I had made some suggestions to him on how to strengthen the party and give it a facelift in the State. I also made several additional suggestions to him. But sad to say, till yesterday, the day that I left the party, no action had been taken,” Shangpliang said today.
According to Shangpliang, Mawrie had promised to consider and try to implement the proposals he provided but after about a month he (Mawrie) had to be reminded again on the same.
“Even so, Mawrie said he still remembered my suggestions and would implement them as soon as possible,” Shangpliang said.
He also said that after another month, he made three attempts to remind the State BJP president to start working and give many aspiring and young leaders opportunities in the party.
“Despite my attempts, there was no response at all,” Shangpliang said.
