Family members and village authorities have expressed despair after exhausting all efforts in locating a man from Ummar village in the western region of Ri-Bhoi, who has been missing for the past 10 days.
Despite continuous search operations, there has been no trace of the individual, Carlus Tron. Known locally as Jack, he was last seen on June 11 in Umran on National Highway 6.
According to reports, Tron had just returned from Shillong, where his wife had given birth. He was travelling back from the state capital along with his mother-in-law and three friends in a vehicle. The party stopped on the road at Umran where Tron answered the call of nature. However, he never returned and the others proceeded to Ummar without him.
Speaking to reporters, Andreas, the brother of the missing man, said that both the family and the village authorities have lost all hope after relentlessly searching for him for 10 days without success.
He further informed that an official missing person complaint was lodged at the Umsning police station on the day Tron went missing. However, they have not received any updates or leads from the police. Andreas appealed to the general public for any information that could help in locating his brother.
