The house of acting waheh shnong of Narwan village in East Jaintia Hills, Lam Langstang was attacked allegedly by Voice of the People Party (VPP) supporters.
The incident happened at around 8 pm. Police said a mob armed with sticks and stones trespassed and surrounded the house and then smashed the glass windows of the house.
According to the family, they were earlier threatened by the VPP supporters for not supporting the candidate of the Sutnga- Narwan constituency.
Police personnel who were patrolling the area had immediately rushed to the site but could not contain the crowd.
East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad said additional force has been deployed in the village.
The situation is said to be under control till filing of this report.
