Meghalaya Congress president and party candidate from Shillong parliamentary seat, Vincent Pala today said that every vote to the NPP meant a vote for the BJP.
It may be mentioned that recently the BJP has decided to support the two NPP candidates in Meghalaya by not fielding any candidate against them.
Speaking to media persons here after filing his nomination papers for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, Pala said that after the decision of BJP not to contest the election in Meghalaya, the top leaders in the saffron party have extended their support to the NPP.
Stating that party workers of the BJP felt deserted and betrayed by the decision, Pala said, “The BJP votes will not go to NPP but they will come to me.”
Slamming the BJP over its political ideology, Pala said that other parties who are up against him are fighting the election on communal lines since some parties want to divide Khasi and Garos, while some want to divide Christians and non-Christians.
Terming Congress as the most acceptable party, he said that he is winning the elections because of the ideology of the party.
