Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar has called on the Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS), trainee officers of the 2025 batch to engage with communities at the grassroots level with empathy and inclusivity.
During an interaction with 35 trainee officers, who visited the Raj Bhavan today as part of their induction training programme, the Governor stressed on the values of public service and urged the officers to be good listener to the common people and dedicate them for in protection of water, climate, forests and trees and to be vocal for local.
The Governor highlighted the importance of understanding the state’s unique socio-cultural fabric and urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, dedication, and accountability in their service to the people of Meghalaya.
He also spoke about the evolving expectations of governance in today’s digital and participatory age, and the need for officers to stay responsive, ethical, and innovative in their approach.
