The East Jaiñtia Hills District Level Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Cup football tournament, 2023 for Boys Under-14 and Under-17 Boys and Girls concluded today at Dienchynrum, East Jaiñtia Hills district.
In final match of the U-17 boys final Rymbai Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, defeated Wapung Higher Secondary School 2-1 goal while in the U-17 girls final, Khliehriat Higher Secondary School defeated Lotus Secondary School, Dienchynrum1-0.
Meanwhile, in the Under-14 Boys, K.B memorial Secondary School, Wapung defeated Chiehruphi Secondary School 3-1 via tie-breaker to emerged winners of the U-14 boys category.
Rymbai Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Khliehriat Higher Secondary School and K.B memorial Secondary School Higher will be representing East Jaiñtia Hills District at the State Level Subroto Cup Football Tournament, 2023 in the Under-17 Boys, Under-17 Girls and Under-14 Boys categories respectively, scheduled to be held in Shillong.
Awards were also given to the Best Player of the tournament wherein Bisterly Ksih of Rymbai Presbyterian Higher Secondary School was adjudged as the Best Player of the Under-17 Boys, Filicia Sympli of Khliehriat Higher Secondary School was declared as the Best Player in the Under-17 Girls and Lyonel Ryngkhlem of K.B Memorial Secondary School was declared as the Best Player in the Under-14 boys category.
The final day of the tournament was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal as the chief guest and Halen Nongtdu, Captain U-20 Indian National Football team as the special guest.
