Renowned social worker and educationist of Ri-Bhoi, Jennyfer Joan Kylla, passed away today after a prolonged battle with illness.
According to her relatives, Kylla breathed her last while receiving treatment at the Bethany Hospital Nongpoh. Her final rites will take place on January 20 at the cemetery of Church Of God Umsning.
She was widely recognised for her significant contributions to the upliftment of education in Ri Bhoi. She served as the former headmistress of Nehru Memorial Secondary School Umsning, a former member of the State Women Commission, former chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee of Ri Bhoi, retired headmistress of Eden Academy Secondary School Umsning, and currently held the position of president of Women Organization of Ri-Bhoi District (WORD).
Upon her sudden demise, she leaves behind two children and three grandchildren, along with her grieving family and loved ones.
