As part of India’s G20 presidency, under the leadership of the Union Ministry of Education, the Education Working Group has prioritised the strengthening of the effectiveness of foundational literacy and numeracy through “blended learning”.
Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation) events have been initiated in Meghalaya, with several districts initiating various activities and events. Today, East Khasi Hills organised a storytelling, math mela, teaching learning material (TLM) exhibition and a roadshow at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shillong.
The State Project Director and Director of School Education and Literacy, Swapnil Tembe, was the chief guest and interacted with the students during the session. Twelve schools from East Khasi Hills participated in the event. Prizes for best exhibits were given to Shillong Public School (first place), Dinet Manik Syiem School (second) and Balika Hindi Vidalaya Secondary School (third).
