Electronic Point of Sale (ePOS) machines will be rolled out and distributed to all fair price shop dealers under Tura Sadar Division, the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner informed today.
This will be done under instructions of the Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs to carry out the central government’s ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme under which beneficiaries can avail food grains from any part of the country and be identified through biometric authentication.
In this regard, all beneficiaries must submit their Aadhaar cards and mobile phone numbers by November 20 to their respective fair price shop dealers failing which allotment of food grains will be withheld.
Further, all dealers are to ensure 100 percent collection of Aadhaar card and mobile phone numbers from the beneficiaries tagged with their shop, failing which renewal of their licences for 2021 will not be considered.
