The Dorbar Shnong of Laitkor Mawrie Lumheh today carried out an inspection of alleged Benami practices and trading by non-tribals without a No Objection Certificate from it.
The dorbar in December had decided to not allow non-tribals to carry out business in its jurisdiction sans a trading license.
Rangbah shnong, Pynshai Mawrie said, “We have come back today after six months and we found out that about 10-30 non-tribal businesses running illegally without trading licenses have all stopped.”
He said further checks will be conducted in the future by the dorbar and warned of strict action against those found to operate business without any documents.
