The Meghalaya unit of the National Domestic Workers Movement (NDWM) will observe International Domestic Workers Day on June 16.
There are over 3,000 members who are registered with the union, which is demanding to include domestic workers in the rules and laws regarding minimum wages and various government schemes.
Besides this, they are also pushing for domestic workers to be entitled to social security and maternity leave.
