The Meghalaya government has notified that all deficit school teachers and staff appointed on sanctioned posts who joined service prior to April 1, 2010 will continue with the Contributory Provident Fund (CPF) and those who joined on or after that date will be included in the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
The notification issued today also states that all deficit schools are required to provide CPF or NPS facilities to their employees and this order comes into force with immediate effect. This was informed by the Commissioner and Secretary in the Education Department.
