The State government today enhanced the Dearness Allowance for all categories of State government employees, pensioners and family pension holders by 4 per cent.
According to notification issued today by the Finance Department, the Dearness Allowance was raised from the existing rate of 32 per cent to 36 per cent with effect from January 1 this year.
The enhancement shall also apply to the members of the work-charged establishment and casual workers, other than bungalow peons, holding posts in the pay levels as admissible to the employees of corresponding categories under the regular establishment, services or posts.
The payment of the Dearness Allowance sanctioned under the notification shall be debited to the respective heads of accounts from which the employees draw their salary and the respective heads of accounts from which the pensioners or family pension holders draw their pension.
