Acknowledging the hard work and selfless dedication of frontline Covid-19 warriors, Nongkrem MLA and State Planning Board Chairman Lambor Malngiang felicitated accredited social health activists (ASHAs) and Anganwadi workers of his constituency in a function held at Salem Secondary School, Laitkor today.
The 63 ASHAs and 80 Anganwadi workers were felicitated with a memento and cash award of Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
Banjoplang Lyngdoh Mawlong, a volunteer who has been working at the Smit Quarantine Centre for the past five months with a break, was also felicitated at the function.
Malngiang lauded the Covid warriors for performing their duties with dedication and without fear and appreciated their exemplary efforts in reaching out to the society and providing individualized training to the people at the grassroots.
He also informed the gathering that he has taken up the issue of revising the remuneration of ASHAs and Anganwadi workers with the central government.
