Meghalaya today saw two more deaths due to Covid-19 – one each in East Khasi Hills district and West Garo Hills district.
With this, the death toll in the State due to Covid-19 has risen to 90.
Informing this, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said that 155 new positive cases and 117 recoveries were also recorded today.
The total active cases have come down to 1,055 and the total recovered cases today stands at 8,462.
Among the dead, Pradeep Dhar (57) of Hawakhana Tura, died on October 31 at 6:30 am.
According to Dr. War, initially he was brought to the Tura Christian Hospital on October 31 at 5:45 am and tested negative through rapid antigen test, but since the family members informed the hospital authorities that he had a history of fever with cough and cold he was again tested with TRUNAT and he tested positive.
The second death that occurred on October 31 was that of Kerdimland Shangdiar (65) of Nongmynsong, Umkdait.
Shangdiar tested positive for Covid-19 on October 30. He collapsed in the toilet at home on the morning of October 31 and was declared dead at home at 10:30 am.
