The last remaining four patients with Covid-19 in West Jaiñtia Hills were judged to have beaten the virus today, with the district now with zero coronavirus cases.
Only eight new Covid-19 infections were reported today, along with 24 recoveries and no fatalities.
The new cases were recorded in East Khasi Hills (six), North Garo Hills (one) and West Garo Hills (one).
The recoveries were in East Khasi Hills (16), West Jaiñtia Hills (four), Ri-Bhoi (two) and West Garo Hills (two).
There are officially no Covid-19 cases in Jaiñtia Hills now. Across East and West Jaiñtia Hills there have been 1,003 cases, out of which there was only one fatality (in West Jaiñtia Hills), giving the twin districts a fatality rate of only 0.10 percent.
The other district without any Covid cases is South West Khasi Hills, which has seen a total of only 57 coronavirus infections, all of which have recovered.
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,387 Covid-19 cases, of which 183 are active, 13,066 have recovered and 138 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has climbed to 97.60 percent. The fatality rate is 1.03 percent.
The Health Department also informed that around 1,250 Covid tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.
