There were three new Covid-related fatalities in the state today, as well as 61 new cases and 126 recoveries.
All three deaths were in East Khasi Hills. One of them was unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 38 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 13 and there were 10 between the other nine districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 56 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 55 and 15 between the other nine districts.
There are now 777 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 486 active cases, West Khasi Hills 160, West Jaintia Hills 50, Ri-Bhoi 42, West Garo Hills 20, East Jaintia Hills seven, South West Khasi Hills five, East Garo Hills two, South West Garo Hills two, North Garo Hills two and South Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,014 Covid-19 cases, of which 777 are active, 80,799 have recovered and 1,438 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.33 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 75.29 and for new deaths is 2.14.
