There were 397 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya today, along with 293 recoveries and one fatality.
The lone death was in East Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed. There have now been 15 Covid deaths in the state this month, with seven in the last six days.
East Khasi Hills recorded 211 new cases (including 34 health workers and 13 returnees), West Garo Hills 104 (including 41 through screening and 12 high-risk contacts), Ri-Bhoi 20, South West Garo Hills 14, South West Khasi Hills 11, West Jaintia Hills 10, North Garo Hills eight, East Jaintia Hills six, Eastern West Khasi Hills five, South Garo Hills four, East Garo Hills two and West Khasi Hills two.
There were a total of 50 healthcare workers who tested positive for the disease in the state today, 34 in East Khasi Hills and 16 elsewhere.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 222 recoveries, West Garo Hills 39, Ri-Bhoi six, East Jaintia Hills five, West Jaintia Hills five, South West Garo Hills four, East Garo Hills three, South Garo Hills three, West Khasi Hills three, South West Khasi Hills two and Eastern West Khasi Hills one.
There are now 2,360 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,540 active cases, West Garo Hills 390, Ri-Bhoi 166, West Jaintia Hills 69, South West Garo Hills 33, East Jaintia Hills 32, Eastern West Khasi Hills 27, South West Khasi Hills 26, West Khasi Hills 25, North Garo Hills 24, South Garo Hills 17 and East Garo Hills 11.
In all, Meghalaya has had 89,161 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,360 are active, 85,302 have recovered and 1,499 have died from the virus. The seven-day average of new infections has risen to 336.29.
