Seven new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Meghalaya today, as well as five recoveries and no new fatalities.
All of the new infections were reported in East Khasi Hills, while the recoveries were split between East Khasi Hills (two), West Jaintia Hills, West Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi (one each).
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,931 Covid-19 cases, of which 166 are active, 13,617 have recovered and 148 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.75 percent. The fatality rate is 1.06 percent. There were also around 1,300 Covid tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
The Health Department also informed that 10,892 healthcare workers have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
