Meghalaya today recorded 74 new cases of Covid-19, the highest single-day increase since February. There were also 18 recoveries and no fatalities.
There were 22 new infections in East Khasi Hills, two in North Garo Hills, 12 in Ri-Bhoi, three in South Garo Hills, one in South West Garo Hills and 34 in West Garo Hills.
Eight recoveries were in East Khasi Hills, one in East Garo Hills, three in Ri-Bhoi, one in South West Garo Hills, four in West Garo Hills and one in West Jaiñtia Hills.
There are now 272 active Covid-19 cases in the state – East Garo Hills one, East Khasi Hills 76, North Garo Hills four, Ri-Bhoi 33, South Garo Hills four, South West Garo Hills six, West Garo Hills 140, West Jaiñtia Hills six and West Khasi Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 94,409 Covid-19 cases, out of which 92,542 have recovered and 1,595 have died from the virus. Forty-two patients are being treated in hospital with the disease – 30 in East Khasi Hills, eight in Ri-Bhoi and four in West Garo Hills.
