Meghalaya has recorded 8,005 recoveries from Covid-19 in July so far, according to data from the Health Department, somewhat higher than the 7,875 new infections it has logged in the same period.
There were 388 new cases today, along with 483 recoveries and six new fatalities.
The share of East Khasi Hills, the most-affected district, is 32 percent of new cases this month (2,525), which is a new low, with the other 10 districts accounting for 68 percent (5,350).
East Khasi Hills recorded 105 new cases today, West Garo Hills 99, Ri-Bhoi 55, South West Khasi Hills 40, West Jaintia Hills 25, West Khasi Hills 16, North Garo Hills 15, East Garo Hills 11, South West Garo Hills 10, South Garo Hills nine and East Jaintia Hills three.
East Khasi Hills reported 110 recoveries, Ri-Bhoi 98, West Garo Hills 79, West Khasi Hills 68, West Jaintia Hills 44, East Garo Hills 23, North Garo Hills 19, South Garo Hills 15, South West Garo Hills 13, South West Khasi Hills nine and East Jaintia Hills five.
Four fatalities were recorded in East Khasi Hills, along with one each in South West Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
There are now 3,979 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,128 active cases, West Garo Hills 895, Ri-Bhoi 573, West Jaintia Hills 481, South West Khasi Hills 177, North Garo Hills 177, West Khasi Hills 151, East Garo Hills 143, South Garo Hills 94, South West Garo Hills 87 and East Jaintia Hills 73.
In all, Meghalaya has had 57,388 Covid-19 cases, of which 3,979 are active, 52,464 have recovered and 945 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has increased to 91.42 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.65 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases dipped to 401.14 and has risen for new deaths to 5.29.
