The seven-day average of Covid-related fatalities in Meghalaya dropped today to 1.86, the lowest it has been since April 29.
There was one Covid death today as well as 151 new cases and 218 recoveries.
The lone death was of a vaccinated or partially vaccinated person in West Jaintia Hills, the Health Department informed.
West Khasi Hills recorded 66 new cases today, East Khasi Hills 61, West Jaintia Hills 11 and 13 between the other eight districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 138 recoveries, Ri-Bhoi 35, South West Khasi Hills 14, West Jaintia Hills 12, West Khasi Hills 10 and nine between the other six districts.
There are now 1,877 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 857 active cases, West Khasi Hills 467, West Jaintia Hills 221, Ri-Bhoi 193, South West Khasi Hills 74, West Garo Hills 26, East Jaintia Hills 23, East Garo Hills five, South West Garo Hills five, North Garo Hills three and South Garo Hills three.
In all, Meghalaya has had 80,789 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,877 are active, 77,520 have recovered and 1,392 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 95.95 percent. The fatality is 1.72 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 185.14 and for new deaths is 1.86.
